BAD Dance Collective is the collaborative team of Brittany Taylor and Desiree Cuizon. The pair began working together in 2009 with the Joe Alter Dance Group and has since explored both improvisation-based performances and choreographed works. Both are deeply immersed in the dance community of San Diego, collectively seen performing for the Malashock Dance Company, San Diego Dance Theater, Blythe Barton Dance, Compulsion Dance and Theatre, and other independent artists as well as teaching for various dance schools and companies. The duo frequently teams up with spoken word artists, musicians, and other dance makers, as well as co-producing Doublespeak with Zaquia Salinas in 2016.
In Till Death, Brittany and Desiree are exploring some of the things in life that can be the most complicated and yet the most simplistic—relationships and death. Using spoken word and dance, this all female cast will traverse the many facets of relationships as well as embody the question of what happens when something or someone dies. Expect the raw power of some of San Diego’s best dancers throughout the evening and tangible interaction between the dancer and the audience in the piece Do We Part?
