Doublespeak is a collaborative performance to take place at White Box Live Arts on August 19th and 20th at 8pm, featuring the bold energy of dance, film, and music by female artists, meant to encourage the audience to weigh the meaning of the works at hand. Doublespeak features a world premiere choreographic work by acclaimed local dance artists Brittany Taylor and Desiree Cuizon Fejeran called Avenue Lexicon. Choreographer Zaquia Mahler Salinas will share the Southern California debut of her most recent dance, Desiree, which premiered in June in the Bay Area. Another local dance favorite, Lavina Rich, will share her musings about the image of housewives, past and present. Alongside these dance performances, music artists Tealideal and Geminelle will grace White Box Live Arts with their unique rhythms and smooth sounds. Visual artists Jessica Oh will round out the program with live painting. This multimedia evening of performance will surely move you to shift perspective.
