Internationally renowned choreographer Sasha Waltz will be showing excerpts from her archive on video and discussing the development of her dance making over the last two decades. The evening will be moderated by Margrit Frolich, DAAD visiting professor in the departments of History and Literature and Liam Clancy, department of Theatre and Dance. This event is made possible by support from the Division of Arts and Humanities, the German Studies Program and the Department of Theatre and Dance at the University of California, San Diego.
Sasha Waltz & Guests was founded by Sasha Waltz and Jochen Sandig in Berlin in 1993. By now, over 300 artists and ensembles – architects, visual artists, choreographers, filmmakers, designers, musicians, singers and dancers – from 25 countries have appeared as “Guests” in over 80 productions.
