Authentic Movement Workshop - Sunday, May 3 1-4 pm Dance Place Studio 106
Open to All, no experience necessary
Authentic Movement is a physical awareness practice of self-inquiry and expression. The form is simple and profound, involving inner-initiated movement and sound. With eyes closed, in the receptive presence of experienced witnesses, participants turn their attention inward and follow the movement impulses that arise.
Stillness, movement, rest, play, laughter, tears, and more may all be part of the experience. There is no right or wrong way. There are no “steps” to learn; there are only one’s own movements to discover. Authentic Movement has been used as a spiritual and artistic resource and as a supportive process for bodymind integration and healing since the 1960s.
