San Diego Dance Connect
Steering Committee Selection Process
San Diego Dance Connect will oversee and facilitate all phases of the Steering Committee member selection process. San Diego Dance Connect is looking to recruit 5-7 community leaders who will serve on to the Steering Committee.
Disclosing Conflicts of Interest:
Prior to beginning the group discussion process, the Selection Committee members will disclose any relationships to individuals in the applicant pool which may pose a conflict of interest or the appearance of a conflict of interest. Conflicts of interest will include family relationships or employees. The disclosure of potential conflicts of interest will not prohibit participation in the selection process.
Application Review Process:
Each member of the current Steering Committee will read all of the letters submitted and assign a rank to the top applicants based on the review criteria. The Committee will meet as a group to discuss the applications and compare their individual rankings. They will determine which of their selections are similar and agree on those, and then debate the ones that are dissimilar until they have reached consensus for selecting the final additional Steering Committee members.
Final Selection Considerations:
The Steering Committee will be instructed to make every effort to ensure that the final selections not only represent the candidates whose qualifications best meet the review criteria, but those who together achieve a balanced representation of the dance community in terms of geographic region, dance forms, ethnicities, gender, professional background and areas of expertise. The Selection Committee's decision will be final.
